While a crisp autumn night has people getting cozy by the fire, another tempting smoky aroma can make people’s stomachs growl. Low, slow, and smoked meats tempt the tastebuds even before the first bite. It is one of the reasons why barbecue is always a popular choice.
Jimmy John’s Toasted Brisket Sandwiches bring that satisfying smoked flavor without all the effort. The tender meat with tangy toppings feel authentic. When paired with that fresh French bread, it is a taste that has everyone cheering. Whether it is college gameday or any day, these new food items are winners.
Speaking about the new, limited-time menu offerings, Kate Carpenter, Chief Marketing Officer at Jimmy John’s said, “Some flavors just belong in the fall, and barbecue is at the top of that list. With the Hickory Brown Sugar BBQ Brisket Sandwich and Sweet & Spicy BBQ Brisket Sandwich, we’re giving guests two delicious reasons to make Jimmy John’s part of their football-season routine. One is sweet and smoky, one brings the heat, and both are stacked with the bold flavor people crave this time of year.”

What are the Two New Jimmy John’s Brisket Sandwiches?
Available in restaurants now, the new Jimmy John’s Brisket Sandwiches Hickory Brown Sugar BBQ Brisket Sandwich and Sweet & Spicy BBQ Brisket Sandwich. Both sandwiches feature mesquite-smoked brisket. The tender meat is the star of the sandwich.
The Hickory Brown Sugar BBQ Brisket Sandwich combined the mesquite-smoked brisket with cheddar cheese, Sweet Baby Ray’s Hickory & Brown Sugar Barbecue Sauce, crispy onions, lettuce and mayo. It is served on toasted French bread.
While this sandwich leans to the sweet side, it is really rich. The combination of the barbecue sauce and mayo make it quite unctuous. While the onions add texture, it could use some acid or something bright to break up the other flavors. Even some banana peppers or a pickle would be a good idea.
The other sandwich, Sweet & Spicy BBQ Brisket Sandwich swaps the sauce and adds Jimmy Peppers and regular onions. The Sweet Baby Ray’s Sweet ‘n Spicy Barbecue Sauce is approachable spice. It does not set fire to the palate or have people running for some dairy after every bite.
This sandwich is more successful because it has texture and balanced flavors. The approachable spice is balanced by the mayo. While the lettuce might not be necessary, it does add a textural component. Overall, it is a successful menu item.
The two new Jimmy John’s sandwiches hit restaurant menus on September 14. It is unclear how long they will be available. Check with locations for availability and pricing.
