Before hitting the stadium for nachos, the pre-game moments fuel the fandom fire. Jimmy John’s tells college football fans to skip the grill and place an order. As the Official Sandwich of College GameDay, the Fan Feast meal could become the good luck food for the season.
Food and sports are forever tied. Stadium hospitality partners tempt with over the top menu items, player collaborations, and celebrity chef inspired dishes.
Additionally, the college football tailgate is a huge production. As fans line the boulevard or take over parking lots, people turn the pop-up tent into the ultimate outdoor restaurant. The spread impresses as much as a visit to a Triple D Restaurant.
This year, Jimmy John’s wants people to focus on the fun. As the Official Sandwich of College GameDay, the ESPN College GameDay partnership encourages people to order not meal prep for the day. It leaves more time for perfecting that stellar outfit.
As Suzanne DeRouchie, Vice President of Integrated Marketing Communications at Jimmy John’s shared, “College football fans have a passion and energy unlike any other, making ESPN College GameDay the perfect partner for Jimmy John’s. By bringing back the Fan Feast and showing up for fans all season long, we’re making it easier than ever for fans to fuel their traditions and enjoy every Saturday with Jimmy John’s.”
With a present on ESPN College GameDay, Jimmy John’s has ample opportunity to get people hungry for their sandwiches. It will be interesting to see how the brand can leverage their sandwiches into classic GameDay fun. Could there be a “special sandwich” to go alongside that mascot/game pick?

What is the Jimmy John’s Fan Feast?
A popular menu item that people have been requesting, the Jimmy John’s Fan Feast is the must order for game day. It features a sandwich, chips, dessert, and that infamous pickle for just $6.99. While it was previously only available on weekends, the food order is now available every day.
To celebrate the value meal’s return, Jimmy John’s offers its JJ Rewards members a discount. They can receive $1 off the Fan Feast with the code TAILGATE. The offer is available through September 6.
Lastly, Jimmy John’s offered guests a free co-branded clear stadium tote with purchase of a Fan Feast. The offer was only available in-stores. Some locations might have already sold out.
The stadium tote is smart move for the popular sandwich restaurant. Earlier this year, McDonald’s McValue Pack leveraged this idea to much success.
Sports fans are looking for ways to stretch their dollar. Being able to bring outside food and drink into a stadium is a great way to save money. If this loophole is available, why not spend less than $10 on a meal versus the double or more option inside the stadium.
Hungry for the start of college football season? Jimmy John’s has fans covered with the food. Now, the team needs to deliver the win.
