Food Is the Common Connector

Across the globe, one item can connect people. Food brings people to the table. It nourishes, satisfies, and satiates. Even if languages muddle communication, people can connect with a flavor, ingredient, or dish.

At the table, people find ways to come together. Barriers are pushed aside, differences are overlooked, and connections are made. They might be fleeting or long-lasting. Still, the experience is forever.

When hunger hits, it is more than just a grumbling stomach. It is a need to see food for more than just an energy source. It is a connection to the past, a commentary on the present, and an invitation to the future.

Ready to join this table and enjoy a serving of food that dives a little deeper into what food truly offers?

Travel Opens Doors Beyond the Locale

Choosing to open the door to a travel experience does not require a passport, laborious journey, or difficult trek. An adventure is the decision to step outside of the daily routine, a decision to venture in the unknown, and be vulnerable in the moment.

Whether it is visiting a new block on a familiar street or a country that is far from home, the reality is that travel writes a new chapter in a personal journey. Choosing to see the vista, wanting to explore, and wanting a true experience allows me to discover myself while relating to others.

Since life is fleeting and the world is fickle, I must choose to engage, take the opportunity, and otherwise leave the comfortable in order to grow. Travel is the way to embrace the why and discover its many answers.

Choose to Experience the Moment

In a world where the camera eats first, viewing the moment through a screen creates a barrier. In some ways, that safety distance feels helpful, even comforting. But, that buffer needs to be broken.

Whether it is choosing to speak to the person at the bar, holding the door open for another person, or even just a simple smile to the person waiting in line, the reality is that life is more fulfilling when we engage with others.

Choosing to “live” is not a morning mantra, self-help book or other simple platitude. It is a choice to live in the moment. While it is not an easy choice, it is a habit that can be built through choice. Just like a morning run, the decision to engage and be in the moment is a skill strengthened through habit.
