As tennis fans flock to the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, people thirst for the perfect beverage to toast every game, set, and match. One of the many Flushing Meadows traditions has been sipping on the iconic Honey Deuce cocktail. The Ace Paloma hit a mark. Even, the Watermelon Slice makes a splash. Which one is the better US Open cocktail?

Cocktails and sports events have become big business. It is more than the Mint Julep sipped during the Kentucky Derby or a Bud Light can sporting a favorite NFL team. Stadiums create specialty drinks. Liquor brands balance unique recipes with hydration breaks. Everyone wants a drink in their hand while cheering every moment.

The US Open has become the end of summer place to see and be seen. While the day is filled with action across the tennis center or under the lights where play feels electric, everyone eyes are glued to the court. Luckily, a great cocktail is within reach, too.

Which US Open Cocktail Wins with Big Flavor?

The three signature US Open cocktails are the Honey Deuce, Ace Paloma, and Watermelon Smash. While these libations have vastly different flavors, one concept unites them all. They are fruity, bright, and refreshing on a hot day. It is easy to enjoy more than one.

While the drinks are flowing, everyone should be cautious on overindulgence. Even though these beverages are easy drinking, hydration in between is equally important. Or, consider enjoying a mocktail version.

Honey Deuce Is One of the Most Recognizable Cocktails in Sports

The iconic US Open cocktail is always a signature. Whether it is the adorable melon ball garnishes or the vibrant color, it is everywhere at the tournament.

Additionally, the cocktail’s popularity extends beyond New York. According to Total Wine & More, the nation’s largest independent retailer of wine and spirits, purchases of the cocktail’s key ingredients, Grey Goose and Chambord, surged 243% during the US Open last year.

Here’s how to make the Grey Goose Honey Deuce.

Ingredients

  • 1¼ oz Grey Goose Vodka
  • 3 oz Fresh Lemonade
  • ½ oz Premium Raspberry Liqueur
  • 3 Honeydew Melon Balls, for garnish

Method

  • Fill a chilled highball glass with cubed ice and add Grey Goose Vodka.
  • Top with fresh lemonade and premium raspberry liqueur.
  • Garnish with a skewer of three frozen honeydew melon balls.

Watermelon Slice Is a Crushable Cocktail

IHG Hotels and Resorts are official hotel and hotel loyalty program of the US Open Tennis Championships. In addition to offering fans an opportunity to step aboard IHG Racquet Cruiser after watching the match, the brand brought back its signature cocktail, the Watermelon Slice.

A huge hit in 2025, the bubbly, refreshing cocktail is available at the IHG Racquet Bar. Whether people buy it for the tennis-inspired collectible cup or the flavor, it is a lovely option for people who want an effervescent cocktail.

The Watermelon Slice features Moët & Chandon Impérial Brut, watermelon juice, elderflower liqueur and lime. The drink is garnished with a watermelon wedge. It is a little sweet, but delightful on a warm day.

Ace Paloma Hits the Spot

While the Honey Deuce and Watermelon Slice bring a juicy sweetness, Ace Paloma hits with citrus tartness. The combination of grapefruit juice and grapefruit soda quenches a thirst.

Additionally, the Dobel Diamante Cristalino is quite smooth. This tequila cocktail is elevated, crisp, and worth of a sophisticated event.
