Salt and Straw’s Transforms Favorite Summer Pies into Delicious Ice Cream
Back for another summer, Salt and Straw’s Summer Pies Series has a few returning favorite flavors and a brand-new option. The pie-inspired desserts are available in stores now and will be available until August 27.
The Summer Pies Series features the following flavors: Peaches and Cream Galette, Wild-Foraged Berry Slab Pie, Wildflower Honey and Lemon Chess Pie, Gruyère and Tomato Custard Tart, and Coconut Cherry Pie with Almond Crust.
The Peaches and Cream Galette is the new flavor. This ice cream captures every juicy aspect of the seasonal stone fruit. From the peach ice cream to the peach pie filling and peach galette, it captures summer in a single spoonful.
The Wildflower Honey and Lemon Cheese Pie is always a top choice. The lemon curd is delightful tart. Since it is a frozen yogurt, there is a creaminess in every bite that contrasts the hearty chess pie. It is slightly sweet, but quite refreshing.
Lastly, the Gruyère and Tomato Custard Tart is controversial but definitely worth trying. The savory leaning dessert celebrates seasonality. The tomato jam tart is subtly sweet and a little juicy. With the gruyere, it is a great choice for people who prefer a cheese plate to a slice of cake.
The Summer Pies Series is available now for a limited time. Check with locations for availability and pricing.
