Ready to play Drake’s “One Dance” on repeat, again? 2016 is back and Taco Bell brings a taste of those favorite foods to the menu. That Beefy Crunch Burrito will taste as good as you remember.
The Decades Menu has been hugely popular for Taco Bell. Whether it is the nostalgia vibe or the craving for favorite menu items, people order, and order often, these specialty limited-time food options.
The third chapter in this ongoing Decades Menu story turns the page to 2016. All eyes were on Brazil as the world compete in the Rio Summer Olympics. From Michael Phelps dominating in the pool to the US Women’s Gymnastics Team captivating fans, everyone cheered as the athletes topped the podium.
Fueling all that sports watching was Taco Bell and its popular menu items. With that Baja Blast ready, people were eating Beefy Crunch Burritos, Meximelt, and even a Caramel Apple Empanada. Now, those favorite foods are back.
As Luis Restrepo, Chief Marketing Officer, Taco Bell North America, explained, “For decades, Taco Bell has been woven into the lives of our fans, and there’s something special about revisiting the moments and experiences that made 2016 distinctly memorable. Whether you remember 2016 or another era of Taco Bell, the Decades Menu is about reconnecting with the flavor and feelings that fans loved the first time around, while giving a new generation the chance to discover it for themselves.”

Hungry for Beefy Crunch Burritos, Meximelts, and more Taco Bell Favorites?
Joining restaurant menus on August 20 (or August 18 for Taco Bell Rewards Members), the 2016 menu features Naked Chicken Chalupa, Meximelt, Beefy Crunch Burrito, and the Caramel Apple Empanada.
After a large movement petitioning for the popular burrito to return, the Beefy Crunch Burrito is back. For anyone who does not remember this food item, it contains seasoned beef, Flamin’ Hot Fritos, seasoned rice, reduced-fat sour cream and nacho cheese sauce.
The key to this menu item is the texture. Yes, the Flamin’ Hot flavor brings the spice, but it more than just a tingling on the tongue. The crunch satisfies. The Fritos stand up to the beef and sauces. No other chip would be the same.
This special burrito will be $2.79. Guests should check with restaurants for exact pricing.
Additionally, the Meximelt is another great return menu item. It was a core menu item in 2016 and deserves to be celebrated. Wrapped in a warm tortilla, it has seasoned beef, pico de gallo, and a three-cheese blend.
The 2016 is another example how Taco Bell listens to fans. Whether they go deep into the food vault or pull something from recent memory, people hunger for those favorite menu items.
What will be next on the Decades Menu? Only time will tell, but everyone will be running to get another taste.
