Central Florida is full of adventures both above and below the water. A new adults-only event, SEA LIFE Orlando Fins and Flights combines stunning creatures with amazing local craft beers.
When people want to enjoy a night out, they crave more than just a seat at the bar. Activities need to engage the mind, entertain, and spark conversation. Instead of staring at another screen, people can interact with each other.
SEA LIFE Orlando understands that the aquatic world taps into people’s inquisitive side. As turtles, sharks, and school of fish swim through the water, guests get a glimpse into that underwater world. Unlike the animated versions with toe tapping songs, this experience is a splash of the real world.
The new, special event, Fins and Flights pairs SEA LIFE Orlando’s aquatic displays with several local craft breweries. Guests can sample select beverages and stroll through the aquarium.
As Paul Gould, General Manager of SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium, the goal was to create an “unforgettable evening unlike any other in Orlando. Fins & Flights offers guests a unique way to experience SEA LIFE Orlando by pairing the wonder of the aquarium with the creativity of Central Florida’s craft brewery scene.”

What Breweries Join SEA LIFE Orlando’s Fins and Flights Event?
Orlando has a vibrant beer scene. Local breweries continually release innovative beers alongside popular sessionable options. From the tap houses to restaurants to even some theme parks, Central Florida’s brewers are considered some of the best in the nation.
According to SEA LIFE Orlando, the Fins and Flights event will feature five breweries/beverage brands. They are: Tampa Bay Brewing, Orange Blossom, Crooked Can, Ivanhoe Park, and LANDSHARK Vodka Seltzer courtesy of City Beverages Orlando. These brands are popular with locals and have highly regarded beer offerings.
The event has not shared what specific beverages will be poured. Since guests get five 4-oz samples, it would be nice to see a range of options. Hopefully, there will be a lager, ale, and maybe even a stout. If the event offers just IPAs, it will be disappointing.
Additionally, the beverage brands could showcase a specialty offering that ties into the aquarium theme, Orlando culture, or sustainability. Finding ways to connect with the concept is just as important as pouring a well-made beer.
While Fins and Flights is a one-off event, it would be smart for SEA LIFE Orlando to offer similar events in the future. Both adults-only and beverage focused options make sense to drive guests to an evening activity. From beverages to desserts, there are plenty of food-centric options to create excitement and tickets to the I-Drive attraction.
