While Orlando is the theme park capital of the world, people’s reasons for picking one brand over another vary. Thrilling rides, childhood memories, or new experiences are common factors. Food and beverages usually hold hefty consideration. For beer lovers, SeaWorld Orlando is a top choice.

Beer is served at most major theme parks. Some locales might require guests to sit down at a table and order a meal to accompany that lager or hoppy IPA. But, for the most part, theme parks allow guests to imbibe throughout their visit.

While the taps flow at the biergarten, most options are standard fare. All-American, light lagers sold in aluminum containers sit chilled in coolers. Yes, these sessionable beers quench a thirst, but many drinkers want more.

For guests who want a cold draft, more than just a few options, and value, SeaWorld Orlando cannot be beaten. No one is saying that people should turn the day into a drinking fest. But, for the person who appreciates a craft beer after screaming on Mako, there are plenty to choose from.

Why Do Beer Lovers Flock to SeaWorld Orlando?

First and foremost, no one is saying that beer trumps the amazing roller coasters, animal encounters, and entertainment at SeaWorld Orlando. At the same time, being able to enjoy all those experiences with a favorite beverage makes the day even better.

Throughout the theme park, there are numerous places that offer a wide variety of beers on tap. Yes, special events, like the Red, White, and BBQ, Seven Seas Food Festival, and even Howl-O-Scream have specialty market places. The every day watering holes have tremendous selections on tap.

Flamecraft

For example, the Flamecraft, the bar in between the Seaport Theater and Pipeline, usually has at least 10 beers on tap. More importantly, they vary from a fruity sour to a hoppy IPA. Additionally, there are a mix of well-known favorites, like Elysian Space Dust and Blue Moon, with local choices, like Ivanhoe Park.

Additionally, Flamecraft offers a beer flight. For beer drinkers who appreciate unique and local offerings, it is a great way to sample beers that they would not normally try. Any day at a theme park needs some down time and this SeaWorld stop is perfect for an afternoon break or a pre-fireworks beverage.

Waterway Grill and Bar

Tucked into the space by Infinity Falls, Waterway Grill and Bar is another spot with a huge beer selection. Although this space is a little busier with the restaurant attached, the outdoor patio is a great spot to sip on some suds.

Again, the on tap beer selection is impressive. In addition to popular choices like Corona Premiere and Heineken, the local craft beers are a must order. From the easy drinking Orange Blossom City Beautiful to the Sunshine Greetings Florida Ale, these choices are easy swaps for people who are just beginning to explore various beers.

Additionally, Waterway has some beers that push boundaries. For example, the Peacock Rice Lager actually uses rice in the brewing process. This type of beer is not typically on a theme park menu. Pair this beer with the Grilled Churrasco Steak. While the Peacock Rice Lager is even better with spicy food, this food pairing is definitely worth the order.

SeaWorld Orlando Wants to Cultivate Beer Drinkers

In today’s value driven world, visiting a theme park can be a hit to the wallet. While many people accept the money spent, savings adds to overall satisfaction. SeaWorld Orlando understands that concept.

The theme park offers happy hour specials. While that concept might be standard at a beach bar, it is not the norm in a theme park. Throughout the day, Flamecraft. Waterway, and Glacier Bar all offer beverage discounts. Again, no one should over imbibe, but a half price beer entices an order.

Even the free beer promotion adds to guests feeling appreciated. Sure, a 7 oz beer might be a quick refresher, but it is the organization’s effort to give guests a little more. Personally, a light beer is not my go-to beverage, but I happily drink that free beer after getting off Infinity Falls.

SeaWorld Orlando Needs This Addition to Its Beer Offerings

While SeaWorld Orlando’s beer offerings are robust, one item is missing from the line-up, a SeaWorld only offering. That signature, only available in SeaWorld Parks beer would be a smart move.

Orlando has many local breweries that could fill that gap. Additionally, SeaWorld could leverage its conservation programming to highlight the specialty beer. Whether it is highlighting an animal, environmental impact, or social action, there are plenty of opportunities to turn this one beverage into a bigger statement.

Will this idea come to fruition? Only time will tell, but it would easily become a signature for the food and beverage team. Who wouldn’t want to enjoy a cold beer after plunging into underwater world of Sea Quest Legends of the Deep?

For now, pick a spot to enjoy a cold brew during that next visit. Personally, Flamecraft at sunset is my favorite spot. Grab a beer flight, pretzel, and reflect on the day before the night ignites your imagination sky to sea.
