Summer and s’mores go hand in hand. After enticing everyone with layered, colorful beverages, Starbucks shakes up its seasonal menu with a twist on a classic flavor. Starbucks S’mores Chai and S’mores Cold Brew satisfy even more than the returning S’mores Frappuccino.

Starbucks understands that its menu needs to have fan favorites with beverage innovations. Recent menu launches include energizing, colorful layers, flavorful pearls, and creamy cold foams. At the same time, bringing back fan favorites from years past is vital to keeping those core memories fresh. When a classic tastes as good as or better than that first sip, Starbucks ensures people press order on the app over and over again.

The summer s’mores menu is that perfect blend of fan favorite with beverage innovation. The returning S’mores Frappuccino hits just like the first sip from years ago. At the same time, the new innovations, Starbucks S’mores Chai and S’mores Cold Brew bring the twist that keeps people ordering until the dog days of summer are over.

Starbucks S’mores Beverages Bring All the Feels

It has been six years since the Starbucks S’mores Frappuccino was on the menu. While many people can recall the fluffy sweet marshmallow layer with the rich chocolate syrup surrounded by creamy frozen coffee, it is more than just a drink. For the creator, it is about a feeling.

As Lisa Beckman, who was part of the original S’mores Frappuccino creation team said, “This beverage is not just about recreating the flavor of a favorite treat, it’s about recreating a feeling — the joy of summer connection with friends.”

That sentiment applies to the new s’mores drinks, too. Yes, each one has that summertime sweetness, but the flavors transport people to a moment. I might not be drinking the cold brew in front of the fire, but I can picture the crackling of the flames as I taste the gooey marshmallow infused in the beverage.

Starbucks S’mores Chai Is the Summer Menu Winner

While I fondly remember the S’mores Frappuccino, I was tempted by the new S’mores Chai for my first sip. It did not disappoint. This drink is the summertime surprise.

Definitely sweet, the iced chai has that underlying spice that I have come to expect from recently reimagined chai. The warm cloves, cinnamon, and other spices are not overpowered by the sugary marshmallow.

Truthfully, I never thought to pair tea and marshmallow. In a way, it is nod to childlike whimsy. Instead of another spoonful of honey, it feels like an indulgence or even a tad bit naughty.

While Starbucks might not approve of my twist, but this drink would make a lovely after-dinner cocktail. With some bourbon or rye, it would be similar to one of my favorite cocktails at Rye and Bean on Royal Caribbean’s Icon Class ships.

S’mores Cold Brew Proves Starbucks Cold Foam Is the Best in the Business

While whipped cream has been a classic topping, Starbucks Cold Foam has been the flavor enhancer that brings innovation. From its protein infusions to flavor boosters, the top layer allows me to “choose my drinking adventure.” Instead of a quick melt into my drink, I can sip, stir, and enjoy how I please.

The S’mores Cold Brew is that playful drink that still feels like coffee. The smooth cold brew stands up to the marshmallow cold foam. Whether I sip, stir, or combine both, each drink feels unique.

More importantly, it allows me to savor the experience. Like those campfire moments that entice stillness and contemplation, this beverage compels me to slow down and enjoy. It might not be a morning mantra, but it is a reason to savor summertime before it fades.
