From the guests who race to ride every coaster to the people whose imagination ignites at nature’s majesty, SeaWorld Orlando offers a lit bit of everything. During the summer, the Florida heat can have people longing for a chilly blast of refreshment. Luckily, the popular theme park has many ways to cool off this summer.
As the bell rings that school’s out for summer, everyone is ready for a vacation. Young, old, and those whose age never define them push away the responsibilities. Fun is the only task on the agenda. Luckily, there is plenty to be had at SeaWorld.
To kick off the summer, SeaWorld reimagined a ride. Expedition Odyssey: Fire & Ice has guests soaring above glaciers and diving into a watery abyss. This ride deserves to be experienced multiple times. There are too many hidden gems to appreciate on just a single ride.
Once the lights dim, riders push aside reality and delve into the stunning vistas projected on the screen. From the glowing hot lava spurting from a volcano to the blue, white sheen of pristine snow, it is impossible not to be in awe of the splendor.
Even though I know it is a ride, little touches make me push aside the moments of disbelief. From the slightly burning aroma as the heat rises from the volcano to the spurt of water as we dive into the chilly water, every element is thoughtfully crafted to bring a taste of the actual into the created experience.
Overall, this ride is definitely a highlight for all ages. It is an expression of what SeaWorld does best. It entertains and educates. There is no need for a wand or some dust. The best way to capture a person’s interest is to spark their desire to learn.
Step into the Chill at SeaWorld Orlando
As many guests appreciate, SeaWorld Orlando offers a wide array of animal encounters. After exiting the Expedition Odyssey: Fire & Ice, guests can see some arctic penguins, beluga whales and walruses.
While the ride last for just a few minutes, I love lingering in this area, especially on a hot summer day. It is relaxing and sometimes the animals act silly. Yes, I have stared at a walrus turning in circles. Sometimes, the simplest moments are the ones that bring the biggest smiles.
Throughout SeaWorld Orlando, there are plenty of indoor places that offer a cool respite. Consider adding these stops throughout the day to help beat the heat.
Toast to the Big Chill at Waterway Grill Bar
While Busch Gardens previously had ties to iconic Anheuser Busch, SeaWorld understands that some adults appreciate a cold beverage. Whether it was one too many times on the carousel or a little liquid courage to brave Manta, that beer hits the spot.
For the summer, SeaWorld Orlando offers guests 21 and older one free beer at Waterway Grill Bar. The free draft is available from noon until one hour before the park closes.
Annual Passholders can receive two free beers. Additionally, SeaWorld Orlando has offered happy hour specials. Check with park signage for special offers.
Also, Waterway Grill Bar is a great spot to people watch. The draft beer selection includes some local favorite beers. It is a great spot to grab a drink before heading over to watch the summer drone and fireworks show.
Summer is hot in Florida, but SeaWorld Orlando has the best ways to chill while having fun. Ready to make another visit?
