How Is Applebee’s Celebrating 25 Years of Mucho Cocktails?
Available in restaurants now, Applebee’s added two new $6 Mucho cocktails. The two libations available just in time for St. Patrick’s Day are Emerald Escape and Pricklycane. They are just $6. Additionally, the Parade Punch Mocktail is only $4.
The Pricklycane is a twist on a traditional hurricane. While Mardi Gras season is just a memory, the classic NOLA cocktail is always delicious. This particular version amplifies the fruity notes.
The cocktail includes Bacardi Superior Rum, premium lemon sour, prickly pear, orange and pineapple juices. The signature Mucho glass has a sugar rim.
Overall, this cocktail does read sweet. Even without the sugar rim, it is more sweet than sour. Although the lemon adds a needed sour note, the cocktail is best enjoyed with a spicy dish. Some boldly seasoned chicken wings would be a smart pairing choice.
The Emerald Escape brings a tropical breeze to an Irish influenced beverage. Combining Jameson Irish Whiskey, Malibu Coconut Rum, melon liqueur, blue raspberry, pineapple juice, and lime, the cocktail feels like the warm beach breeze hit the streets of Dublin. Although the blue raspberry is a little much, this cocktail will get everyone into a Spring Break vibe even on a wintry day.
When pairing the Emerald Escape, consider ordering a big juicy burger and fries. It might seems like an unlikely pairing, but the beverage needs a hearty bite to stand up to the potent potable.
Could these specialty offerings become a menu staple? It may not happen, but people might want to remember the ingredients. There is always a way to recreate the signature sipper time and again. Reliving those “mucho” moments can be just as vivacious as the first sip.
