Even before the first notes of those classic melodies fill the room, seasonal food traditions take over the conversation. From recipes handed down over the years to the ultimate Friendsgiving feast, everyone has a craving for those favorite recipes. This year, Lay’s Holiday Chips amplify those classic dishes by transforming familiar favorites.

Over the years, Lay’s has excited fans with creative flavors. From trekking across the globe for inspiration to channeling favorite tailgate dishes, the classic potato chip is the vehicle for a bounty of deliciousness.

For this holiday season, Lay’s looks to popular holiday side dishes for flavor inspiration. With the majority of people proudly saying that Thanksgiving food is their favorite, the holiday traditional dishes need to be on the table. But, no one says that they have to be served like grandma did.

Speaking about the Lay’s Holiday Chips, Denise Truelove, Senior Vice President of Marketing, PepsiCo Foods said, “The holidays are all about gathering around the table with friends and family, and food plays an important role in those celebrations. With this year’s Holi-LAY’S lineup, we’re bringing fans flavors inspired by courses on the holiday table, so they can taste the joy of the holiday season before the table has been set and after it’s been cleared.”

What are the Lay’s Holiday Chips’ Flavors?

Available beginning on October 25, the Lay’s Holiday Chips feature three savory twists on classic holiday side dishes. They are Lay’s Cheddar Scalloped-Style Potatoes Chips. Lay’s Roasted Holiday Turkey Flavored Potato Chips, and Lay’s Maple Bacon Chips. For anyone who loves these classic dishes but does not want to cook, they have a simple solution.

The most controversial flavor will be the Roasted Holiday Turkey. Various food brands have used this food as flavor inspiration. From drinks to snacks, it is always a popular choice.

Lay’s chips will work as long as it offers some herb flavors with the poultry note. If the taste comes across more like turkey with stuffing or a stacked turkey bite, people will happily open another bag.

Additionally, the Roasted Turkey flavor would be great as a coating for turkey cutlets or chicken tenders. This idea is always a smart choice to use up any broken chips.

The Cheddar Scalloped-Style Chips is a classic idea. Although not exactly cheddar and sour cream chips, it is similar. The flavor is rounder, with an underlying unctuous note.

These chips would be great as a topping for a turkey sandwich. Also, it would work as a crunchy topping on a softer dish, like mac and cheese. Overall, these chips are the most adaptable of the trio.

Lastly, the Maple Bacon chips will fly off the shelves. Available in other countries, the flavor finally comes to the US.

These chips are a must for a burger. It might not be the traditional holiday food, but it is a great meal. The old saying about everything is better with bacon applies even more with these chips.

Also, these chips would be great with a sweet pairing. Anyone who makes a “crack” with chocolate, pretzels, etc., could use these chips to bring a salty, rich note. It is a simple way to upgrade a classic recipe.

The Lay’s Holiday Chips hit retailers soon. Be sure to grab a bag before they disappear. Just like the hottest holiday toy, even Santa cannot procure a bag once they disappear from the shelf.
