Even though August has just begun, the fall flavors take over restaurant menus. Panera unveiled its fall treats. With four new Pumpkin Spice menu items, there are plenty of tasty, great gourd options.

Pumpkin spice continues to be the biggest fall flavor. Even though apple positions itself for a takeover, nothing can top that gourd. From beverages to the bakery case, pumpkin still rules.

Panera understands that its pumpkin-centric fall menu needs to deliver seasonal favorites and some new twists. That combination ensures that everyone is happy.

Starting on August 19, Panera’s fall menu hits restaurants. With seven pumpkin-centric options, people can fill the table with treat. From the favorite latte to some new choices, it will be hard to pick a favorite.

What Are Panera’s New Pumpkin Spice Food Items?

Joining the returning favorites, Pumpkin Spice Latte, Iced Pumpkin Spice Latte and Pumpkin Cookie, Panera adds four new menu items. The are Pumpkin Spice Iced Coffee, Pumpkin Spice Frozen Java, Pumpkin Spice Cinnamon Roll, and Caramel Pumpkin Slice. Whether enjoyed on their own or combined together, it brings a burst of sweetness and cozy vibes. It might be 100 degrees, but that first pumpkin treat is always welcome.

The highlight of the new food items is the Pumpkin Cinnamon Roll. While the classic cinnamon version is always tasty, the seasonal option combines that warm spice with pumpkin filing. Then, the whole thing is topped with pumpkin spice icing.

The only element that would make this bakery item is if it was served warm, straight out of the oven. Some people might want to order it to go and heat it up at home.

The second best item is the Pumpkin Spice Frozen Java. With the fall flavors coming earlier, the super cold drink is refreshing. Even though this drink is sweet, the pumpkin sauce brings the flavor. Also, the pumpkin spice crumbles are a nice touch.

Lastly, the Caramel Pumpkin Slice is an over-the-top dessert. The combination of pumpkin pie spices, brown sugar, vanilla, and salted caramel swirls is indulgent but also very well balanced. The touch of salt with all the sweetness makes it quite eatable. While this slice has pumpkin spice icing, it would be even better with some smoky salt or just a little flake salt.

Overall, it was smart for Panera to balance new treats with returning favorites. Many people want that familiar taste as their first bite of the season. It is instantly comforting and satisfying.

Additionally, Panera needed to stay with just pumpkin treats. If it tried to do both apple and pumpkin, it would be too confusing and take away from the core menu. Sometimes less is more.

While these treats officially hit the Panera menu on August 19, check with local restaurants. I was able to order a pumpkin cookie this weekend. Some locations might have an early sneak peek.
