Dunkin’ peels open another beverage trend to everyone’s delight. The latest flavor reveal shows that banana flavored drinks top people’s must order list. Dunkin’ is not monkeying around with these banana lattes.

Across the coffee space, beverages continually evolves. While colorful concoctions have topped the popularity charts, the visual appeal needs to match the flavor complexity. Unlike the old Mary Poppins song, a spoonful of sugar does not make the price more palatable. No one wants to spend $8 on a glass full of colored sugar.

At the same time, big brands cannot ignore the “it” flavor. While consumers, especially younger demographics are fickle, they can make a moment viral. Companies chase it with every amount of effort.

According to Anthony Epter, vice president of menu innovation at Dunkin’, “We’re spotlighting banana on the menu because it’s nostalgic, comforting and incredibly versatile. What makes this launch special is the range. From espresso and iced coffee to matcha and Refreshers, banana shows up in ways that feel indulgent, balanced and completely at home on the Dunkin’ menu.”

The Dunkin’ spring menu found a way to balance trending flavors with a sprinkle of fun. Yes, banana syrups and cold foams have been around for a bit, but these new offerings feel fresh. Plus, the ability to customize a drink with banana cold foam or syrup allows guests to showcase their creative side.

What Are the New Dunkin’ Banana Flavored Drinks?

According to the brand, the new Dunkin’ Banana Flavored Drinks are Banana Puddin’ Cloud Latte, Monkey Business Cloud Latte and Nutty Banana Cloud Dunkalatte. Each one has banana flavor front and center but it is more just a fruit infusion. Each one is balanced with complimentary flavors.

For example, the Monkey Business Cloud Latte combines espresso, butter pecan flavors and banana cold foam. Dunkin’ fans love the brand’s butter pecan offerings. Not only does this beverage tap into that fan base but also it gives a beloved flavor base another use.

Overall, bananas with sweet nutty notes are a classic pairing. While this version is not too sweet, some people might to add a little sugar and turn the drink into a dessert. With the whole milk, it could be an easy shake swap.

The Banana Puddin’ Cloud Latte is the most curious offering of the trio. While it is simple with espresso, whole milk, banana flavor and banana cold foam, it needs a topping. In order to truly capture that banana pudding dessert, a little crumble of Nilla cookies would have been a nice addition.

Over all, the Dunkin’ banana flavored drinks will have everyone running to get that first taste. Heading into the spring, the flavor profile is a little unexpected, but it is better to stand out. Fruity over floral should prove successful for Dunkin’.

Additionally, the Dunkin’ Spring Menu includes Dunkin’ Zero, Dunkin’ Refresher Berry Acai, a limited run of Wedding Cake MUNCHKINS, and a $6 Meal Deal.
