Home cooks, social media chefs, and professional chefs all have the opportunity to earn the sought after FOX culinary competition title. Before one person can be crowned Next Level Chef Season 5 winner, they must earn their team spot from the draft. Has an early favorite emerged?
After making it through their first cooks in each of the three kitchens, the Next Level Chef Season 5 chefs enter the draft. Each one has their preferred mentor. But, there is the ultimate goal, the title. Being on the right team is more important than a particular mentor. Surviving until the individual competition is essential.
While Richard Blais finally earned the crown in Season 4, Gordon Ramsay and Nyesha Arrington want another win. The first step to earning that prize comes in the draft. Curating the best possible team requires keen strategy. It is not just securing a front runner but also having a potential scapegoat.
Additionally, a mix of professional, social and home chefs is important. In some cases, the category might be less important than the skill set. For example, one social media chef is just as talented as the professional chefs.
15 chefs entered the draft. Only one will walk away with the title Next Level Chef.
Predicting the Success of the Next Level Chef Season 5 Draft
The first three well-edited episodes offered a glimpse into how each chef cooks, their potential advantages and definitely a few front runners. Although the mentors will probably squabble over their top picks, there are both early favorites and a few dark horses in the bunch.
Christian Alquiza – Social Media Chef from Austin, Texas
While Christian is labeled a social media chef, he is more than just impressive visuals. His background proves that he knows ingredients, flavor profiles and, most importantly, culinary creativity. Additionally, he seems to have some appreciation for adapting to whatever ingredients are on the platform.
Connor Caine – Professional Chef from Los Angeles, California
During the preliminary round, Connor showcased California cuisine in every plate. That ability to highlight ingredients will serve him well in the competition.
Danielle Kartes – Home Chef from Puyallup, Washington
While Danielle was labeled a home chef, she is an accomplished cookbook author. Her wealth of knowledge is key to her success.
Emerson Bartolome – Home Chef from San Diego, California
In his episode, Emerson showcased some creative flavors and keen execution. Nothing seemed to rattle him, which is a strong quality to have in Next Level Chef.
Andy Allo – Social Media Chef from Los Angeles, California
Andy showed her determination in the first round. Her precision and controlled approach could keep her calm in the pressure cooker.
While all the chefs could rise to the top, there is one ark horse competitor. Matt Starcher – Social Media Chef from Chesapeake, Virginia – is not afraid to cook non-traditional proteins. Given the platform’s twists and turns, he could surprise everyone.
Will these Next Level Chef Season 5 Chef predictions hold true? Be sure to watch new episodes on FOX every Thursday night at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
