When Skrewball debuted in 2018, the concept changed how people perceived the classic liquor. Whiskey left the darkened libraries and stuffy work lunches. The salty, sweet flavor infusion added vivacity to whiskey drinker’s repertoire. With the new Skrewball Peanut Butter and Strawberry Jelly Whiskey, the unexpected flavor combination pushes the spirits category in a whole new direction.

Liquors tend to fall into various categories. Over the years, whiskey expanded beyond the stoic spirit that only grandpa drank. Women’s palates tend to prefer more rounded, even sweeter notes. Younger drinkers sought beverages that felt fun, even lighthearted.

With an expanded audience, liquor brands needed to change their approach. Infusing flavor into the whiskey was an easy way to build excitement. Combined with an approachable price point, new brands instantly found an audience.

Skrewball was one of those brands. The peanut butter flavored whiskey instantly found an audience. Whether it was a person who enjoyed a simple pour over ice or used it in a cocktail, the innovative, versatile spirit built a loyal following. It even became a featured spirit in a Pina Colada on some Royal Caribbean ships.

The new Peanut Butter and Strawberry Jelly Flavored Whiskey is the next chapter in that flavor innovation story. It continues the concept that Skrewball launched. The liquor brand challenges expectations of what whiskey can be.

As Richard Black, Managing Director of North American Distillers said, “By taking a flavor combination that consumers know and love and reimagining it through our signature peanut butter whiskey, we’re continuing to push flavored whiskey in unexpected directions. The result is a playful, nostalgic take on a classic pairing that feels unmistakably Skrewball.”

Time to Sip on Skrewball Peanut Butter and Strawberry Jelly Flavored Whiskey

Skrewball’s new flavor innovation takes a classic, nostalgic food and transforms it in a way that no one expected. Yes, PB&J is comfort food, a classic, and even a treat. While it might be a childhood favorite, the combination is not limited to just juvenile consumption.

First, the flavor is an interesting choice. Yes, there is an inherent sweetness to this combination. Although not quite “jammy,” the strawberry brings out the slight saltness of the peanut butter. At the same time, the fruitiness is not overpowering. There is a subtle note that people will appreciate.

Skrewball was smart to choose strawberry over grape. It has much more versatility. For anyone who wants to build a cocktail around this spirit, pairing strawberry with other ingredients is far easier than grape.

For example, a personal favorite libation is classic Skrewball with Canada Dry Fruit Splash. It created a PB&J like cocktail. The hint of ginger spice with the fruitiness made the peanut butter flavors pop. The cocktail was easy drinking and fun.

The new flavored whiskey can add depth to a riff on an adult Shirley Temple or a version of a Dirty Soda. It could even be paired with a cola or a flavored sparkling water. Sweet, nutty, and spicy feels nostalgic yet is a big serving of fun.

Skrewball’s Tiny Cans Add to the Fun Factor

For this new spirits launch, Skrewball sells the Peanut Butter and Strawberry Jelly Flavored Whiskey in small cans. There is a 100ml can (two servings) and a 50 ml bottle. Both options are 70 proof. To clarify, it is a flavored spirit, not a canned cocktail.

While some people might use the bottles as shots, the mini cans are perfect for portable cocktail hour. For example, half a can, a splash of soda, and some ice becomes a simple cocktail. From the tailgate to the backyard, it continues the fun vibe that this flavored liquor conveys.

Additionally, the smaller containers align with other beverage trends. As many people know, ready to drink and smaller portions have taken over the party and the cooler. This option might be a can, not a ball, but it will get a lot of attention chilling on ice.

Will Skrewball make a full bottle of this flavor? The company did not disclose that information. If the initial launch makes a big splash, that option could be coming down the line.
