Long before sports icons, pop culture celebrities, and regular people devoured chicken fingers dipped in Cane’s Sauce, Todd Graves had a vision. While the food menu is straight-forward, his concept is more than just serving a great meal to anyone who steps through the door. Raising Cane’s 30th anniversary celebrates the one love that unites everyone.

Anyone who thinks that the restaurant business is an easy, lucrative endeavor is naïve. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, 50% of restaurants fail within five years. Creating and sustaining a restaurant brand for 30 years is a huge accomplishment.

Raising Cane’s currently has more than 1,000 restaurants. Starting with the first Baton Rouge location, Raising Cane’s continues to own ever location across the globe. While other brands franchise, the decision to keep the restaurant concept under its own umbrella not only fosters growth but it ensures that every location continues the One Love core at the heart of its business.

Even before anyone takes that first bite, the Raising Cane’s team ensures that everything is perfect. From just the right amount of toasting on the Texas toast to the crispiness of each chicken tender, everyone takes pride in what they do. Without that personal accountability, Raising Cane’s would not be as successful.

As the brand celebrates 30 years, the team looks back at its humble beginnings. While the restaurant brand’s growth is immense, it would be nothing without connecting back to that “Mothership” and the love born out of a simple idea.

Raising Cane’s Returns to the Mothership for its 30th Anniversary

August 28 is the official Raising Cane’s 30th Anniversary. To celebrate the moment, the restaurant brand opened at one-of-a-kind pop-up museum in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Open now through September 24, the pop-up event space includes photos, memorabilia, and more. From Todd Graves’ early beginnings to iconic elements that are featured in every restaurant, it is a space that every Caniac will want to visit.

Since Raising Cane’s is more than just another restaurant, the space is more than just a mecca for the super fan. It serves as inspiration for anyone who dreams big. Yes, hard work, and a little bit of good fortune, is vital to get the ball rolling. More importantly, Graves’ story and success encourage people to follow their dreams.

In some ways, that disco ball in every restaurant is representative of thinking beyond the obvious. Sure, it fixed a curious skylight feature in the first restaurant, but it also sparkles and shines the one love light everywhere. Navigating past all the negative to find the positive solution can happen.

Yes, Graves’ turned chicken fingers into a billion-dollar business model. Simple menus, great service, and putting others first is and continues to be the foundation. Humble beginnings do not necessarily make the current status seem grander. Instead, it is a reminder that hard work and good intentions reap rewards.

Raising Cane’s Anniversary Celebration Raises Funds for the Next Generation

While the restaurant brand has opened restaurants around the world and served tons of chicken fingers, Raising Cane’s makes fundraising a priority. For its 30th Anniversary celebration, it commits to donating $30 million over the next 10 years to pet welfare organizations.

Cane, the beloved yellow lab dog, is a mainstay Raising Cane’s. Several “Canes” have stood beside Graves as the restaurant brand grew. The adorable plush puppies have supported various charitable causes over the years.

As part of the celebration, limited-edition 30th Birthday Plush Puppy goes on sale. Like all the previous 46 plush puppies, sales proceeds benefit the Communities Cane’s serves.

While everyone loves that cooked to order, premium chicken fingers, Cane’s Sauce, and crinkle cut fries, the loyalty to Raising Cane’s is more than just craving an amazing meal. People are drawn to the commitment and dedication that the brand represents. One love is not just a phrase, it is a mantra that gets stronger with every meal served.
