While all eyes are on the pitch, Miami Stadium (usually referred to as Hard Rock Stadium) diverts soccer fans’ attention with its specialty food menu. Offering a taste of local culture during the World Cup. Sodexo Live’s hospitality team has two dishes that will be filling everyone’s feed. Which one earns the flavor win?

As the world descends on the various stadiums hosting World Cup games, the hospitality teams have an opportunity to showcase their culinary creativity. Every sports fan appreciates that game day is a feast. From over-the-top creations to a nod to local favorites, the moment gives guests a taste of what they can experience in the host city.

Sodexo Live is Miami Stadium’s hospitality partner. The team created two specialty dishes for the World Cup. They are below.

  • Pan con Lechón: A traditional Cuban-style sandwich featured slow roasted succulent pork, infused with vibrant citrus mojo sauce. Served on a toasted full Cuban loaf each bite balances rich tender meat with a zesty, refreshing punch of citrus and garlic.
  • Empanada Mundial: A five-pound chicken and cheese handmade empanada packed with savory seasoned chicken and oozing cheese.

What Makes Miami Stadium’s World Cup Food Menu Different?

The Sodexo Live culinary team made smart choices with its two specialty World Cup food items. First, the Pan con Lechón is a smart nod to Cuban culture. While it is a taste on a traditional Cuban sandwich, the flavors have a slightly bolder punch.

For example, the citrus and garlic notes elevate every bite. Yes, the slightly sweet Cuban bread is the smart contrast, but the punch of brightness is needed. It keeps the flavors light, which is vital on a hot Miami day.

The Empanada Mundial is the visual showstopper. It is almost impossible for one person to eat a five-pound empanada. But, there will be people who will take on this food challenge. It might take the entire first half to eat every bite.

Or, others will see this empanada as a way to share a meal. Sometimes the best bites are the ones enjoyed with others.

More information on these World Cup specialty foods can be found at the stadium.
