Whether mom sits at the head of the table or lounges in a more leisurely space, Mother’s Day Brunch cocktails make the meal more festive. Instead of another mimosa, these floral, flirty and fun options elevate the dining experience. And, the special libations can become a new tradition for years to come.

When it comes to brunch cocktails, the flavors tend to be lighter and fruitier. Even though the espresso martini can often replace another latte, the reality is that juicy, fruit forward libations take prime space on the table.

Whether served with an egg dish, pancakes or even a plate of bacon, the bright cocktails help cut through all the rich flavors. Adding balance to every bite, it is easy to ask for a refill.

Must Sip Mother’s Day Brunch Cocktails

Pear of Thieves

While the classic screwdriver has been a brunch staple, the orange juice forward drink can be one note. For people who want a bevvy of citrus flavors, this cocktail delivers. It is sweet, tart and quite juicy.

One word of caution needs to be heeded with the grapefruit juice. A too acidic option will make this beverage too tart. While a good pucker is refreshing, imbalanced beverages are not sippable.

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz. Crystal Head Vodka
  • ½ oz. St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur
  • ¼ oz. freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1 oz. fresh pear juice
  • 1 oz. fresh grapefruit juice
  • Garnish: Grapefruit wedge

Directions

  • Pour all ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake vigorously then pour into a cocktail glass. Garnish.

Guava Smash

Tropical fruits can be the fun, vibrant flavor that brings excitement to the table. This guava forward drink is a taste of the islands.

  • 1.5 oz Sparkling Coconut Water

Carpano Bellini Spritz

A bellini is a brunch staple. The stone fruit forward cocktail is just sweet enough to make it feel indulgent but never cloying. In this recipe, the Carpano Dry Vermouth creates balance with the other dry and sweet ingredients. Just like the right spice rounds out a great recipe, this vermouth is the ingredient that pulls it all together.

Ingredients

  • 3 oz. Carpano Dry Vermouth
  • ½ oz. Peach Puree
  • ½ oz lemon juice
  • 2 oz Champagne or Sparking Wine

Directions:

  • Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker filled with ice and shake vigorously until well chilled. Strain into a wine glass over fresh ice and top off with sparkling wine and favorite fruit garnish.

Spa Day Paloma

While some moms will get a spa day as a gift, this cocktail kickstarts the celebration before stepping into the relaxation room. Although a paloma is a classic tequila cocktail, this complex version adds some hydration elements.
